About LOADLESS

I was good at my job. I was terrible at my brain.

That was 2023. I had a thriving consulting business. Clients loved me. Revenue was solid. From the outside, I was crushing it.

Inside? I was drowning.

Not in work — in decisions. Every morning started with the same paralysis: which email to answer first, which Slack thread to prioritize, which newsletter to read, which task to tackle. By 2PM, my brain was empty. Not tired — empty. I'd scroll Twitter, pretend to work, and hate myself for it.

I wasn't lazy. I wasn't burned out from working too hard. I was burned out from deciding too much.

"Decision fatigue isn't burnout. It's a different animal. And once I named it, I saw it everywhere."

The System

I spent the next 6 months obsessively building systems to eliminate decisions. Not manage them — eliminate them. I automated everything I could. I built filters for information. I created templates for recurring tasks. I stopped consuming content that didn't pass a strict filter.

The result: I got 12+ hours back every week. Not from working less — from deciding less. My brain felt sharp again at 6PM. I could think clearly in the morning. The fog lifted.

Then people started asking what I was doing differently.

The Realization

I launched the Loadless Score as a simple quiz in August 2024. Within 3 months, 2,400+ people had taken it. The average score was 67 — meaning most people are operating at 67% cognitive capacity without realizing it.

I started getting emails. Hundreds of them. All saying the same thing: "I thought it was just me." "I thought I was broken." "I didn't have words for this until now."

That's when I realized: I wasn't solving my own problem. I was solving a problem for millions. Professionals who are good at their jobs but terrible at their brains. People drowning in the same fog I'd escaped.

Why LOADLESS

LOADLESS isn't about productivity. It's about freedom.

Freedom from the constant hum of decisions. Freedom from information overload. Freedom from the guilt of not being "on" all the time. Freedom to think, create, and live without your brain feeling like a browser with 200 tabs open.

This isn't a hack. It's a cognitive architecture. A systematic approach to reducing the load on your brain so you can use it for what actually matters.

The Science (Simplified)

  1. Decision Fatigue — Your brain has a finite capacity for decisions each day. Once depleted, decision quality drops dramatically. (Baumeister et al., 2008)
  2. Cognitive Load Theory — Working memory has strict limits. Overload reduces learning, creativity, and problem-solving ability. (Sweller, 1988)
  3. Attention Residue — Switching tasks leaves "residue" that impairs performance on the next task. Context switching kills productivity. (Leroy, 2009)
